Adam Scott, a graduate in drama, began his screen career in the 1990s with appearances in shows like *Emergencies*, *New York Police Blues*, and *Star Trek: First Contact*. However, he gained wider recognition through his roles in the teen series *La vie à cinq* and *Wasteland*. In 2002, Scott made an impression in supporting roles such as Lieutenant Terrence Embry alongside Morgan Freeman in *Crimes and Power*, and as Ben Cooper, the romantic interest of David Fisher (Michael C. Hall), in two episodes of *Six Feet Under*. Transitioning towards comedy, he starred in films like *Torque*, *Son mère ou moi!*, *Frangins malgré eux*, and *En cloque mode d'emploi…*, while also pursuing more ambitious projects. His standout performance in *The Vicious Kind* earned him Best Actor at the Independent Spirit Awards for his role as a troubled protagonist. Scott's career took a significant turn in 2009 with *Party Down*, where he played Henry Pollard, a caterer yearning to become a Hollywood star. The following year, he joined *Parks and Recreation* in its final two episodes of Season 2 as Ben Wyatt, a Pawnee accountant. Promoted to a regular role, his character became central to the show, particularly in his relationship with Leslie Knope (Amy Poehler). Scott established himself as a key figure in American comedy, showcasing versatility in romantic (*Give me your hand*), horror (*Piranha 3D*), drama (*Friends with Kids*), and science fiction (*Hot Tub Time Machine 2*) genres. He also delved into nuanced roles, portraying subjects like children of divorced parents in *A.C.O.D.*, a pivotal figure in *The Dream Life of Walter Mitty* opposite Ben Stiller, and an FBI agent alongside Johnny Depp in *Strictly Criminal*. In 2016, Scott was cast as Trevor, the embodiment of Evil, in the series *The Good Place* by the creator of *Parks and Recreation*. He further showcased his range under the direction of Jean-Marc Vallée as Ed Mackenzie, a devoted husband and protector of Madeline (Reese Witherspoon), in the HBO mini-series *Big Little Lies*.
